Pam Jackson is the director and owner of WholeHeart Yoga Center. She has been studying yoga for over 20 years, began teaching in 1992, and is certified as an advanced level Kripalu instructor. She studies with master teachers to renew her practices in both yoga and meditation. Her classes encourage balance, a sense of humor, regular practice, and living yoga philosophy in everyday life. She also offers private classes and workshops.
Julie Gray has been practicing and studying yoga for over 25 years. She is a Kripalu-certified instructor and has studied in many traditions. She combines a spiritual focus with her knowledge of mind-body health and yoga philosopy. Her classes gently coax the body’s innate energy and intelligence into fuller expression though whole-body movement, cultivation of subtle perception and awareness of the internal breath. Julie is an RN and certified Integrative Yoga Therapist who also offers private sessions.
Kerry McGaffey completed her Kripalu certification in 2006. Through former work as a domestic violence prevention educator, Kerry became inspired to study yoga and it’s sister healing science Ayurveda to learn more about the intimate connection of the mind, body and spirit. She encourages her students to tap into their own body wisdom and sense of balance -physically, emotionally, seasonally. Her emphasis as a yoga teacher and Ayurvedic consultant is to facilitate self exploration and a deeper understanding of one’s self in relation to the natural world.
Theresa Berman was certified as a Kripalu yoga instructor in 1993. She has studied and taught various styles of yoga including Ashtanga, Kundalini and Yin yoga. She often blends these styles along with the practices of inquiry and mindfulness in her classes, presenting a clear, grounded, and spiritual approach to yoga. Her emphasis is on cultivating self-awareness and peace through the dynamic practices of asana, pranayama and meditation. Theresa invites you to come share the benefits of yoga with her.
Patricia Neja has been practicing Kripalu Yoga since 1995. Patricia finds calmness and joy in her practice and shares that joy in her teaching. She completed her certification in 2009 at Namaste Institute in Rockland, ME. Patricia incorporates principles from various yoga disciplines allowing for both a gentle and challenging experience. She considers the uniqueness of the individual while focusing on alignment, moving with the breath, and connecting with spirit. Patricia also offers private instruction for individuals and organizations.
Joe Appel has been practicing yoga, using a number of different approaches and styles, since 1998. He is certified as an advanced yoga teacher in the Viniyoga tradition, under the tutelage of American Viniyoga Institute Director Gary Kraftsow. His teaching explores the full breadth of yoga techniques — from asana and pranayama to sound, chant, and meditation — as means for finding greater freedom, ease, and self-understanding.
Marisa Bois first discovered Kripalu Yoga in 1997 at WholeHeart Yoga Center while seeking a more holistic way to bring balance and health into her life. Marisa’s yoga practice has brought her much healing and has taught her how to approach life with an open heart. Marisa was originally certified in California in 2001 through Camel Rock Yoga, and more recently at Namaste Institute in Rockland, Maine. She teaches a contemplative style that emphasizes mindfulness, safe alignment, and the cultivation of body and breath awareness. Her classes encourage joy, presence, and compassionate acceptance of the self.
Jen Queally, an enthusiastic student of yoga for over 15 years, was certified to teach in the Kripalu lineage in 1997. She has completed two Yoga Alliance teacher trainings and has made five yoga inspired pilgrimages to India. She has studied with some of the world’s master teachers in the Astanga, Jivamukti, Anusara and vinyasa yoga systems and blends the best from many traditions. The heart-centered and compassionate approach of Kripalu yoga continues to be a clear foundation from which Jen teaches. Expect classes that awaken strength and invite surrender.
Ward Willis has been working with adults and children in the field of wellness for over 10 years – as a nursing/psychology student, middle school teacher, camp counselor, coach and yoga instructor. Ward is inspired by the resilience of the human spirit. Certified as a Kripalu instructor in 2004, his teaching emphasizes compassion and self-acceptance with a focus on pranayama and meditation in motion. Ward is currently taking time off to attend graduate school. He continues to sub occasionally.
Jessie Chalmers is a dedicated and enthusiastic student and teacher of yoga. Her own practice began 10 years ago and has supported her during times of stress, transition, and injury. She continues to rely on her practice each day for ever-deepening wisdom as a mother to her young daughter. She leads with a heartfelt approach, and teaches classes that are accessible, meeting people wherever they are and encouraging them to unfold and grow in their practice. Kripalu-certified in 2007, she also has experience in Anusara, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, and pre- and post-natal yoga.
