Learn body & breath awareness, basic alignment & postures, breathing techniques, relaxation, and an introduction to meditation and yoga philosophy. The best place for new beginners, and a good class for anyone wanting to review the fundamentals.
A good class for beginners or continuing students who like a gentle approach. We offer extra warmups and plenty of room to modify or make adjustments. Also appropriate as a pre-natal class.
Assumes you know the basics. Kripalu Yoga always uses a sequence of warmups to prepare you, and our moderate classes include more varied and challenging postures and flows.
Assumes you know the basics, moves at a quicker pace and is more physically challenging with longer holdings and more posture flows.
These classes include time for practice of meditation after our yoga asana practice.
This class includes meditation practices of peace along with gentle yoga. You’ll learn and practice metta (lovingkindness), compassion, joy, and equanimity practices.
In Yin we hold postures for 3 to 5 minutes while focusing on our breath and inner landscape. These long held poses affect the deeper connective tissues of the body, while stimulating and balancing the Life Force, or Chi, that flows through the entire meridian system. Each class will feature a balanced session targeting specific meridians and corresponding organ pairs. We’ll conclude each class with a brief yang or active practice.
This class emphasizes the subtle practices of yoga which support the awakening process. The foundation of this exploration is the embodiment and integration of the subtle energy body with the physical body.
