Who I am:
I am a nature, movement and music lover, a mama, partner, yogi, compassionate teacher and lifelong student
What I teach:
Kripalu yoga group classes and private Kripalu yoga.
My current classes (and workshops) include:
Gentle and moderate Kripalu Yoga classes as well as offerings of seasonal Ayurvedic workshops; Grounding for the Fall, and Spring Renewal.
My classes are – welcoming. My intention as a teacher is to provide a safe space for students to explore their inner landscape, what is happening on the inside. I encourage each student to tap into their own body wisdom and sense of balance- physically, emotionally, seasonally.
What brought me to yoga:
Bells Palsy. After many years of intense social service work, I developed Bells Palsy. I felt disconnected from my body and did not realize the immense stress my body was holding. Through this experience I became inspired to study yoga and its sister healing science Ayurveda to learn more about the intimate connection of the mind, body and spirit. My emphasis as a yoga teacher and Ayurvedic consultant is to facilitate self-exploration and a deeper understanding of one’s self in relation to the natural world.
Favorite pose (and why):
Child’s pose is like a reset button for me. It is one of my favorite ways to reground, center, and listen deeply within.
Off the mat:
In addition to my classes at WholeHeart, I offer private sessions as a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist, a mind/body therapy as well as private yoga. I enjoy sharing adventures with my partner, my two daughters and our pup. Yoga, live music, dancing, spending time in nature, being with my family and catching up with friends feed my soul.
